The Switchboard

This course is about the switchboard and its connections. It includes power consumption and voltage drop in cables.

The switchboard’s 230V and 12V connections are reviewed as well as the location of the main fuse.

Examples of different paintings from Bavaria, Hanse, and Philippi are shown.

Busbars and fair distribution of current are reviewed.

Bow thrusters are large power draws, and the special connection requirements are reviewed.

Also, the connection of a bilge pump is treated, which should be active even if the rest of the boat is switched off.
